Books I Want to Read - Part I

As a bibliophile I always want to have lots of books. And even if I could realize this dream once, due to unavoidable reasons I could not keep the books to myself forever. In future I may not be able to remember the names of almost all the books I had or wanted to read. So from now on I will regularly write down the names of some books in the blog, which I want to buy and read in the future. Among them, names of few books and brief information are given below-

Synopsis: Is there such a city, where you go to get back everything lost in life? Who is the person who has access to the mysterious world of crows? Or the unfamous poet Binoy Majumder, gypsy girl Mitya, eternal youth Leela Majumder or Asim Sarkar and Ila Rahman are all of him? Where did that blind mendicant Kana Nezam come from, who is cramming his hidden stories every night without anyone noticing? Brief Information: Mohammad Nazim Uddin, the popular thriller writer of two Bengals, has published seven thrillers in his widely discussed and popular Beg-Bastard series so far. The seven books in this series are named in order: Nemesis (2010), Contract (2011), Nexus (2012), Confession (2013), Karachi (2015), Next (2022), Control (2024). The books are published by Batighor Prokashoni.

Character Information: Sherlock Holmes is a fictional detective created by British author Arthur Conan Doyle. Referring to himself as a “consulting detective” in his stories, Holmes is known for his proficiency with observation, deduction, forensic science and logical reasoning that borders on the fantastic, which he employs when investigating cases for a wide variety of clients, including Scotland Yard. The character Sherlock Holmes first appeared in print in 1887’s A Study in Scarlet.

Brief Information: Sherlock Holmes first appeared in 1854. The original series was written by Arthur Conan Doyle. Maruf Hossain has translated the books into Bengali under the title ‘Sherlock Holmes Samagra’ published by Bibliophile Publications. Bibliophile’s Sherlock Holmes’ 4 volumes include 4 novels and 5 short story collections.
